13-year-old, grade 8 student of DPS Sharjah, completed the Chemistry Honors course, with the highest possible grade from Northwestern University, USA

Dubai: Raghav Krishna Seshadri Sumanth, a 13-year-old bright young Indian student of grade 8 student and Middle School Head Boy at Delhi Private School, Sharjah was admitted to the highly intensive Chemistry Honors course (high school final level course) for the Gifted and Talented students at the Centre for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University, Illinois, USA.

In 2022, in this Chemistry Honors program, he secured the highest possible grade of A+ with an overall score of 98.7% and obtained 2 credits of high school. Professor David Chan of Northwestern University was in all praises for Raghav throughout the course and in his testimonial, termed Raghav’s work as “Outstanding” and quoted “Raghav earned consistently high marks on all categories including homework, discussion, labs, and unit exams. His written work was outstanding, as his lab reports and homework quizzes were full of detail. I enjoyed listening to his narration and viewing his creativity on several unit projects. Raghav communicated well throughout the course, and I took pleasure working with him”.

Raghav had also successfully completed the Algebra Honors course at CTD at Northwestern University, Illinois, the USA in 2021, and obtained 2 high school credits.

Raghav is a recipient of the prestigious Hamdan Award for Distinguished student in the 2020/2021 academic year, the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Award in 2020 for Outstanding Academic performance from the Consulate General of India in Dubai, and the coveted Diana Award 2021, UK and Young Philanthropist Award from Dubai Cares in 2019. With multiple Gold medals in Math Olympiads year on year, he represented UAE in the IMSO Olympiad, Indonesia, and was also the winner of 4th rank in the Junior Mental Calculation World Championship in Germany in 2019.

He successfully completed a Harvard University online course in Astronomy and Space in 2020. He is a student Ambassador at Water Alliance, UAE, and also at Smile Train, Dubai (where he raised over AED 12,000 for free cleft surgery for underprivileged students) and also raised over AED 30,000 for the Ta’ Alouf program of Al Jalila Foundation, Dubai to help in the education and overall empowerment of children of determination in 2020. He and his younger brother Madhav Krishna were featured as “Global Indians” by the Global Indian portal.

With natural teaching skills, he teaches many fellow students at school to help them shine in academics. Raghav holds a black belt in Karate and loves reading. His next goal would be to make it to the IIT / Harvard / MIT for higher studies in the field of Engineering / Space / Technology.
