Dubai: Group of 73 Doctors, Nurses, and Paramedics from India returned to UAE on 7th July with a specially approved travel permit provided by DHA for Aster Hospitals & Clinics.

After the green signal given by DHA, a total of 73 health workers split into two groups left for UAE on Wednesday. The team also includes existing healthcare workers already employed across different units of Aster Hospitals and Clinics network in UAE. There are still some more healthcare workers waiting to come back to UAE.

Most of the existing healthcare professionals were at home on leave when COVID-19-related travel restrictions came into force. The team comprises medical professionals having experience in intensive care units and expertise to treat Covid-19 patients.

Aster DM healthcare approached DHA for special travel permission for a flight to bring our healthcare front-liners who are unable to return from India to UAE. DHA provided the permission and forwarded the approved list of travelers to Emirates airlines.

Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals & Clinics, UAE said – “The team has all the necessary approvals from the foreign ministry. Our healthcare professionals have traveled from different parts of India – Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu (Pondicherry), Maharashtra (Mumbai), Hyderabad, Madhya Pradesh (Indore) to be present at Cochin & Bangalore terminal on 7th July for their international flight departing from India to UAE. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Dubai Government, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Airport Authority, and Emirates Airlines for all the support extended to Aster in making this arrangement possible for us. It was critical for our staff to come back and fill the gaps across the network of hospitals in Dubai during this pandemic.

We will continue to serve our sole purpose of providing treatment and deliver healthcare services to families, individuals, and communities in UAE with strength and confidence.
