Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, UAE’s towering iconic landmark on Monday lit up to celebrate the world renowned Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan’s birthday.

Flipping through scenes from some of the actor’s best-known roles including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, the Don movies, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the spectacle lauded Khan, and his decades-spanning career.

Khan, now 55, is currently in the emirates to show support for his Kolkata-repping franchise cricket team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, as the mega-viewership Dream11 IPL series that the emirates is hosting on its grounds heads into the final stretch.

“It’s nice to see myself on the biggest and tallest screen in the world,” the actor said in an Instagram post, where he posed in front of the Burj flashing his name in multihued letters behind him.

Earlier in the day, Khan took to social media to thank all his well wishers in a video message as several birthday greetings from fans and colleagues alike poured in.

“I know some of the work that you boys and girls have been doing, giving your time and resources to people who are in need right now, ” the actor said in his message, cheering the charitable work of his fans towards the COVID-19 efforts.

“The PPE kits you have been sending, blood donations that have been happening, going and helping out people everywhere. This is the most wonderful work that we can do because you can’t be a lover boy like me without spreading love.”
