Despite the strict impositions of COVID-safety across the emirates Burj Khalifa is once again set to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2021 with its grand annual display of fireworks, lights and lasers, developer Emaar announced today.

Visitors to the iconic Dubai landmark will see instilled a series of preventative measures on premise, including thermal cameras, social distancing, contactless payments and around the clock deep cleaning and sanitisation. These precautions fall in line with the governments standard guide and directives.

In a bid to encourage citizens to celebrate the occasion amid the safe bubbles of their homes, the event will also be broadcast globally, set to live-stream from Emaar’s website, 8.30pm local time onwards.

Commenting on the New Year’s Eve spectacular in Downtown Dubai, Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, said:

“Delivering world-class experiences is part of Emaar’s DNA and this year we will deliver an even bigger gala event. The world is facing challenges, but we are united, and we will come out of this year stronger than ever before. We want to send a message of hope, happiness and positivity,” Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, said.

Eateries and leisure spots on Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Boulevard and across The Dubai Mall are open and ready for bookings for the night’s celebrations. Burj Park will also welcome viewing crowds, affixed with a large screen to broadcast New Year’s Eve highlights from around the world.
