Global Village, Dubai’s renowned multicultural tourist destination on Friday night broke the Guinness record for the ‘Most Videos in a Music Medley’ at the lively Global Gig, hosted at the site — the biggest virtual rock concert in history.
As the region’s first hub for culture, shopping and entertainment, the Village is a highly celebrated family destination, representing over 25 nations including two new entries this year. As part of the celebrations of its 25th anniversary, the destination aims to bag 24 more titles this season and honour the Silver Jubilee.
The concert brought together around 2,500 performers from more than 100 countries around the world.
At the height of thee Covid-19 pandemic the 24th Global Village season was cut short earlier this year. At this stage, organisers hope to keep the new season, launched on October 25, running until April 2021.
Dubai continues to maintain its position as a leading global destination for leisure and cultural experiences, as a growing list of iconic attractions make it to the book of Guinness World Records, with the launch of the world’s largest fountain The Pointe at Jumeirah earlier this month.
