Explore Expo 2020’s outstanding Space Week!

DUBAI: Expo 2020 Dubai visitors can blast off on a fascinating voyage through space missions and future explorations with the Space Walk journey, which celebrates and brings alive humanity’s relationship with the final frontier.

Using technology and immersive techniques, the curated journey is an out-of-this-world experience, examining the remarkable success stories of how nations conquered space, including the UAE’s bold Mission to Mars and the achievements in the field by countries such as Canada, France, India, and New Zealand.

The Space Walk journey not only celebrates the feats of nations in exploring outer space but also tells the story of how these missions have contributed to improving life on Earth, in the face of numerous challenges, including climate change and environmental degradation.

Visitors will have a rare opportunity to see the ‘mission control’ of the UAE’s ambitious space program and marvel at the achievements of the Hope Mission to Mars in Alif – The Mobility Pavilion, celebrating the nation’s entry into the elite club of countries that have voyaged into space.

France was among the very early pioneers of space exploration. At the France Pavilion, visitors are invited to embark on an immersive journey to outer space and discover how the French Space Agency has been pushing frontiers and contributing to the collective knowledge of space exploration.

Another country making fascinating strides in space exploration is India. An immersive exhibit at the India Pavilion showcases the Indian space programme and its applications in health, defence, and natural resource management.

From AI to machine learning, to space and aerospace, the Canada Pavilion eloquently celebrates the North American nation’s position as an innovation powerhouse, providing glimpses into its past, present, and future programmes.

The Switzerland Pavilion is showcasing pioneering efforts in sustainable space logistics and solutions to tackle the increasingly prominent issue of space debris, as well as the role of the private sector in sustainable space exploration.

Designed in the shape of a spaceship, the Kazakhstan Pavilion’s Future Hub looks at pioneering technologies and scientific advancements.

The role of youth in driving space exploration is being brought into focus by the UAE University through its Pathfinders programme, which focuses on engaging young people in developing solutions to space-related challenges. During Space Week (17-23 October) – one of 10 Theme Weeks that will take place throughout Expo, as part of the Programme for People and Planet – visitors can learn about opportunities for setting up space-linked projects, including spacecraft traffic management.

Space Week will celebrate nations’ successful space exploration missions, welcoming celebrated astronauts and space exploration experts.
