DUBAI: Talented young students are set to steal the show at Expo 2020 Dubai, with the chance to shine in front of the world on the spectacular Al Wasl Plaza stage, the central stage of Expo 2020 Dubai, usually reserved for national day celebrations, international stars, and world-class concerts.

Designed by the Expo School Programme to empower rising talents, Expo 2020 Young Stars is putting the spotlight on the youth, giving students from the UAE’s private and public schools the opportunity to showcase their passion and creativity through interpretive performances celebrating the vision and spirit of Expo 2020, starting November 7.

No two performances will be the same, with musicals, puppetry, orchestras, and circus act expected to feature. Starting with the auditions and leading up to their final performances, students and schools have worked hard in preparation for the performance of a lifetime. Making the most of this unique opportunity, students were also encouraged to participate in preparations for the shows, including scriptwriting, making props, and costume design.

Inspired by Expo 2020 Dubai’s subthemes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, as well the 4 incredible school journeys being offered exclusively to UAE schools – Legacy of the UAE, World of Opportunities, Universe in Motion, and Sustainable Planet – the 15-to-20-minute performances will give Expo 2020 visitors a glimpse into the diversity, the spirit of collaboration and potential prevalent among the UAE’s youth.

Starting with 5 performances in November, with more than 100 additional private and public schools scheduled to perform between January and March 2022, visitors to Expo 2020 will be able to catch up to 3 performances daily at the Al Wasl Plaza’s stage, for free.
