The second edition of the HERO Dubai Hatta will officially kick off on 29 October at the Hatta Wadi Hub. With athletes flocking in from more than 40 countries, the starting line will boast some of the most important figures among the international mountain bike scene. These include newly crowned UCI Marathon World Champion Andreas Seewald, ready to face the runner-up Diego Alfonso Arias Cuervo; and Ramona Forchini, 2020 UCI MTB Marathon World Champion.

The event is a HERO Series circuit stage and the only UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) mountain bike race in the Arabian Peninsula. A high-octane sport event will also represent an opportunity to share a common passion in an exclusive location, immersed in the desert’s unique atmosphere. The two race routes will wind their way across sandy dunes and rocky tracks. The ‘long’ route boasts 60 kilometres, while the ‘short’ one boasts 18 kilometres (3 loops of 6 kilometres).

The kick-off of the HERO Dubai Hatta will be at 7 a.m. for athletes facing the 60-kilometres route, and at 7.30 a.m. for those facing the just as challenging 18-kilometres route.

The audience can await the arrival of the winners of the 2021 HERO Dubai Hatta inside the HERO Village. The spectacular award ceremony to crown our desert heroes will take place later in the morning.

As part of its commitment to Dubai Fitness Challenge 2021, this year’s Title Sponsor of HERO Dubai Hatta is Dubai Holding, a diversified global investment company.
