Dubai: Today, when India and Pakistan are ready to face each other, not only the players but also the cricket fans are also ready with full enthusiasm, to counter each other in the stadium. The ghost of the defeat in the last T20 is still haunting the Indian supporters and this was clearly visible when we talked to the Indian supporters outside the nets practice ground.

Fans are presented in large numbers outside the net practice ground for the last 3 days just to catch a glimpse of their favourite players. An Indian fan named Shreya Jha said that this match is going to be a memorable one for her. Shreya said, “Immediately after the match, I have a flight to the UK, where I have been studying and working. I was born and brought up here in Dubai but in T20 I saw the India-Pakistan match for the first time in the stadium and India lost. It was sad because my friends have declared me unlucky for team India since then. This is my request to the team India to win this match and make my farewell from Dubai memorable as I am going straight from the stadium to the airport with good memories”.

On the other hand, Shariq Khan, a resident of Dubai, says that for the first time in T20, “I went to see the match with my family and children, India’s defeat made me sad but it was told to the children that victory and defeat are part of the game, next time we will win and today’s match I am going to watch again with my kids and this time kids are very eagerly waiting for India’s victory. My entire family has bought T-shirts, and flags and children have written posters and slogans with their own hands and we all hope that this time Team India will not disappoint us.”

At the same time, 10-year-old Yash Raj, who waited for hours to get a glimpse of his favourite players by coming outside the net practice ground continuously in the last 2 days, says that “Although I am going to watch the match with my family here I want to take a look of them closely and will try to take a photo too. Tomorrow’s match will be my first match to be seen at the ground and I pray that Team India registers a thumping victory.”

Ram Babu, who had come to watch the match from Chandigarh, India, was also seen walking around the players’ bus so that he could see his favourite players. Ram Babu has been travelling to different countries for the last several years to watch the match between India and Pakistan, which includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Dubai, and England. Ram Babu says that on hearing the name of India-Pak match, enthusiasm comes. As a fan, I want that there should be a series between India and Pakistan and the only hope from today’s match is to take revenge for T20.

Saad Aqueel, a public relations professional living in Dubai, is going to watch the match between India and Pakistan at the ground for the first time. Saad Aqeel says that it is going to be a memorable day for me because I tried a lot to get a ticket for T20 World Cup also but failed. This time too I got this ticket after waiting 6 hours in the second round of ticket sales. I would like Team India to make this match an example of a memorable day. On the other hand, on Friday, during the net practice, Rohit Sharma shook hands with the supporters of the Pakistani team and also talked.

Not only Indians and Pakistanis are also praying for Kohli:
Virat Kohli, who is going to play his 100th T20 match today and is going to become the first Indian player to play in all formats of cricket, seems to be struggling with the issue of performance. Well, Indian’s prayers are with Virat and the hopes are also there, but when we talked to Pakistani supporters, everyone said in one voice that he is an amazing player and we would like to see his game back on the field. Jatar Johnny, who lives in Peshawar, Pakistan, says that although I come in full getup in support of Pakistan in every match, but if you will ask the name of my favourite batsman, he is Virat Kohli. On the other hand, Pakistan’s vice-captain Shadab Khan said in his press conference on Friday that Virat Kohli is a legend. We wish him the best, although he is performing very well but not up to his standard. I want to see his century but not against us. We get really scared when he is on the pitch. to catch a glimpse of Virat Kohli is equal among Pakistani supporters as in Indian supporters.
