Jashn-E-Javed Akhter: An Evening to celebrate His Journey With Shayari, Dastangoi And Intellectual Complements in Dubai

A beautiful gathering of Urdu language and culture lovers is going to be held on the 9^th of December 2021, to celebrate the work of Indian National Award-winning lyricist and composer Javed Akhtar’s contribution and work in the field of language and poetry. The evening “Jashn-E-Javed Akhtar” will compile with an international mushaira at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School in Dubai at 8 PM.

In a video message to TheBrew.ae, Javed Akthar said he was keen to meet his fans in the region and spend a night reciting poetry, his beloved activity. His actress-wife Shabana Azmi will also be there as chief guest.

The Event is conceptualised by Javed Akhtar’s friend Tariq Faizi, who is the CEO of organising company Leading Edge Events. Talking to The Brew, Tariq said that this event is unique in the term that first time with Mushaira, we are going to present a Dastan on Javed Akhtar by renowned dastango Syed Sahil Agha. We will have two papers on Javed Akhtar’s Urdu Shayari and his Bollywood contribution by Ejaz Shaheen and Irfan Izhar, he added.    

A string of notable poets including Shaheen Abbas, Shahid Zaqi, Amar Iqbal, and Hammad Niyazi will perform during the evening.

Javed Akhtar is one of India’s most popular lyricists and screenwriters. He has won five National Film Awards and received the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2007, two of India’s highest civilian honours.
