Sharjah Eid holidays to start on April 30
Fri 22 Apr 2022SHARJAH: The Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources has approved amending the date of the Eid al-Fitr holiday to start from April 30 through May 5, with work to resume on May 9, 2022.
The Directorate explained that this comes as an appending to Circular No. (4) of 2022 regarding the Eid al-Fitr holiday 1443.
Eid Al Fitr marks the end of Ramadan; a month of daily fasting and reflection for those observing. One of the most important months in the Islamic calendar is a time when Muslims will fast from sunrise to sunset for approximately 30 days. The month of Ramadan officially started on April 2, following a meeting of the UAE’s Moon Sighting Committee and Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. Local communities may also hold communal meals and children’s events. Private families may also hold festive meals, it is common to wear fine, new clothing to these events. Many will also visit the homes of friends and relatives, give candy and other gifts to children, and send greeting cards to one another with the greetings.
