‘SUITS’ TV series to be remade in Arabic

Come April, the hit US TV show ‘Suits’ will be aired in an entirely new do-over.

The famous TV series, created by Aaron Korsh has a cult following worldwide. It narrates the exciting story of Manhattan’s top corporate law firm. The story follows the legal adventures of its legendary team of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and his sidekick Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) under the watchful eye of their boss Jessica (Gina Torres). The original show also stars Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle (before she became a royal), Katherine Heigl and Sarah Rafferty. In the United States, ‘Suits’ completed its nine-season run in 2019 after 134 episodes and two remakes in Korea and Japan.

The Arabic ‘Suits’ adaptation features an A-list local cast, including Asser Yassin as Harvey; Ahmed Dawood as Mike, Saba Mubarak as Jessica, Reem Mostafa as Donna, Tara Emad as Rachel, and Mohamed Shahin as Louis.

The Arabic remake of the show has been scripted by Egyptian writer Mohamed Hefzy, directed by Myriam Ahmadi, and produced by TVision Media founder and CEO Tarek El Ganainy.

According to reports, Universal Studio Group has teamed up with Cairo-based media production company TVision and OSN to produce the Arabic remake of the show. Shooting for the first two seasons of the series had started in January.

Universal Studio Group’s executive VP of commercial strategy and international development, Enrique Guillein says, “‘Suits’ is one of the most popular TV shows in the world, and we are thrilled to be adapting it for Middle Eastern audiences and partnering once again with our friends at TVision”.

As per reports, the Arabic-language ‘Suits’ is slated to be aired starting April 2 on OSN and its streaming app Watchit across the Middle East during Ramadan season.
