DUBAI: Visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai can discover a shared sense of collective responsibility towards one another, and understand what we can achieve when we all work together, as part of ‘The World is One’ – a bespoke visitor journey from a collection of many, tailored to varied interests, and covering everything from family fun to space travel.

The perfect introduction to Expo’s Global Goals Week, held in partnership with the United Nations from January 16-22, the journey highlights the ways that key organisations and institutions, as well as individuals, are delivering real-life solutions to real-life challenges.

The critical focus of Global Goals Week is to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a global blueprint to reduce inequalities, promote prosperity, protect the planet, and achieve a more sustainable future for all by 2030.

Mission Possible – The Opportunity Pavilion is home to the UN Hub, focusing on water, food and energy – key elements of the SDGs – as well as the Best Practice Area, spotlighting local projects already addressing many of the global goals. It is where Expo 2020 brings the SDGs to life, highlighting how a small change can have a big ripple effect, and how together, through our collective action, that effect can be intensified.

Continue your journey to The Good Place by Expo Live, which shines a spotlight on social entrepreneurs playing a key role in identifying grassroots solutions to global challenges. The pavilion also offers an exciting opportunity for those who are searching for support towards their projects, giving their journey a sense of possibility.

Next, discover how more than 20 million children and youth in 60 developing countries have already benefitted from the support of the UAE community through the work of Dubai Cares, the UAE-based global philanthropic organisation, at Dubai Cares Pavilion.

Move on to Sameem, an open-air pavilion, where visitors can engage with Emirati storytellers, artists and artisans, as they work on their crafts, providing an authentic way to discover how the UAE’s rich heritage is inevitably tied to the future.

Inspiring all who enter its doors to become change-makers, the Women’s Pavilion, in collaboration with Cartier, showcases the important roles that women have played throughout history, and continue to play in the present. Based on the principle that when women thrive, humanity thrives, the pavilion sheds light on how women and men have contributed to female empowerment and gender equality.

Conclude the tour at Al Wasl Plaza, where there are 42 medallions created by artists from around the world. Each of the one-metre-diameter Beacons of Al Wasl is arranged in a ring around Al Wasl Plaza and highlights inspiring moments in the UAE’s history.

Visitors can access the self-guided ‘The World is One’ visitor journey through the Expo 2020 Dubai app, or choose one of the many others on offer, covering subjects from food to education.
