ZHO implements the People of Determination Diving in Deep Dive Dubai initiative

Abu Dhabi: Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has carried out the “People of Determination Diving in Deep Dive Dubai” initiative, in coordination and cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police General Command and the ZHO volunteer team.

Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, ZHO’s Secretary-General, was present at the occasion which saw the participation of seven people of determination, including a woman. ZHO People of Determination Diving in Deep Dive Dubai

The initiative included sports activities and diving practices, and the installation of a wheelchair as a symbol of the divers with determination, in addition to raising the flag of the UAE and taking an oath of allegiance to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underwater in sign language.

Al Humaidan said that the initiative provided people of determination an opportunity to dive into the world’s deepest swimming pool, emphasising their great capabilities and potential. “It is also a way of enhancing their self-confidence, and showcasing the high and positive spirit they have,” he added.

With the aim of aligning and consolidating the efforts made in the field of People of Determination care, and as per the directives of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may his soul rest in peace), H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed A​l Nahyan, President, issued, during his tenure as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Law No. (2) dated April 19, 2004, establishing Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, as an umbrella for all humanitarian bodies, social services, people of determination institutions and any future bodies established in Abu Dhabi for humanitarian goals.
